Terms of Service
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Welcome to Hit the Town. By using our app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. What Hit the Town Does
Hit the Town helps you discover venues, events, and plan personalized outings in your city. We provide recommendations based on your stated preferences using our preference engine. We are not a booking platform, ticketing service, or venue operator.
2. Your Account
- You must be at least 17 years old to use Hit the Town.
- You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- One account per person. Don't share accounts or create fake ones.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. How Recommendations Work
Our preference engine uses your taste profile (categories, vibes, cuisines, budget, energy level, etc.) to score and rank venues. Key points:
- Recommendations are personalized, not random.
- Venue partnerships (Verified badges, deals) never influence your recommendation rankings.
- We don't guarantee venue availability, hours, or pricing accuracy. Always verify with the venue directly.
4. Venue Information
Venue details (hours, photos, addresses, menus) come from third-party sources including Google Places API. While we strive for accuracy:
- We don't guarantee that venue information is current or complete.
- Hours, prices, and availability may change without notice.
- Always confirm details with the venue before visiting.
5. Events & Tickets
Event information comes from Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and other providers. When you tap to purchase tickets:
- You'll be directed to a third-party ticketing site.
- Your purchase is governed by that site's terms and refund policies.
- Some ticket links are affiliate links โ we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- We are not responsible for ticket availability, pricing, or fulfillment.
6. Venue Partnerships
Some venues may be "Verified Partners" or "Founding Partners." This means:
- Their listing information has been confirmed as accurate.
- They may offer exclusive perks to Hit the Town users.
- Their ranking in your recommendations is not influenced by the partnership. You'll only see them if they match your taste profile.
7. User Conduct
Don't:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy our preference engine or venue database.
- Create fake accounts, spam, or manipulate the system.
- Use automated tools to access the app.
8. Intellectual Property
Hit the Town, our logo, preference engine, and app design are the property of Hit the Town LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
Hit the Town is provided "as is." We're not liable for:
- Venue experiences that don't match expectations.
- Inaccurate venue information from third-party sources.
- Third-party ticket purchases or refunds.
- Any damages arising from use of the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (which, for the free app, is $0).
10. Disclaimer
We don't guarantee that the app will be available 24/7, error-free, or that recommendations will perfectly match your taste. We're constantly improving, and your feedback helps.
11. Privacy
Your privacy matters. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and use.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
